Writers Block, Will It Ever End?

Writers block, it’s something that any author will have. No matter what they have to write, it will attack them at one point or another while working. It’s that point when you sit staring at the paper, nothing coming out. Or that you are sitting at the computer, hands on keyboard, but words just won’t get there.

Well it’s a problem that you will most likely experience more than just once if you write for a living. Even if you simply write for fun, it will come up from time to time. There isn’t really much you can do about it. Search for the muse in you and hope that they come back to help you out quickly.

Buying and using a book that contains writing prompts may help free up the mind a bit. However, if you’re really in a deep problem of writers block, it may not help. Try writing about anything and everything that you can think of.

Sit outside and look around, make up a story about a situation or a car that you see. These are all ways that you may be able to jump start the muse in you. But if you begin to get too frustrated and can’t think of a thing, walk away.

Do something different, head out and see a movie, or walk around the mall. Anything that will give you new things to look at and do. Perhaps something you see will be just the trigger that is needed. That certain thing that will get your mind back in line, and your words flowing free again.

If you want to try and force yourself on those days to try and do a prompt, have at it. But it can possibly make the problem even worse. So instead just get up and do anything else but write.

Finally, one day you will wake up and the words will be there again. It may be something completely different from what you’ve been working on, but enjoy it all the same.
